Day 39 - Day 42 Monday 18th - Friday 22nd March; Location Ponto Falls (Near Wellington)

Today no generators, just the sound of cockatoes again. We awoke at 7.30am to the sound of birds and the river running we are camped right next to it.

After breakfast I spent 3 + hours washing clothes, no laundromat in Wellington so hand washing required.

After all the washing made lunch and then had a relax for about 30 mins. James has spent the morning trying to charge the mobile phones for some unknown reason they have all decided that the chargers dont want to work today.

I then decided to start cooking the stew for dinner, but the wind picked up and after an hour of trying to cook and keep the stove from going out I gave up and decided to wait until later.

Anyway the pot of stew is now cooked and time for an afternoon stroll. We will probably stay here for a couple of days before going to visit the caves. Such a beautiful spot.

Thursday 21st March 2013 - were still here and loving it, almost have the place to ourselves now, only 3 other vans here. Might head off to see the Wellington Caves tomorrow but we are in no rush. It is so nice here. (other than the flies)

Our camp right next to the river

Friday 22nd March - today is our last full day at Ponto Falls, after packing up camp we headed for Wellington Caves.

I still didnt get to stop in town and have a look through the park, but one year I will get there. Another town where they dont really cater for people with caravans or campers in tow. (Seems to be a common occurance)

When we got to the caves, it was half an hour until the next tour so we had a drink, I had a caramel milkshake mmm mmm was yummy. Rena had a play on the you guessed it the playground.

The Phosphate Mine tour was really informative and interesting, we then went on the Cathederal Cave Tour, also really enjoyable.

Dont forget to visit the visitor information centre as well, as it has alot of really cool stuff in it too.

We then went across the road after a quick bite to eat to the Japanese garden, and up to the Caves turnoff sculptures.

We then went via the tourist road and drove past Stuart Town and then set up camp at Macquarie Woods near Bathurst.

As storms were forming all around us we decided a quick dinner and inside the camper was the best option, not to mention that it was blowing a gale.

Early to bed (again).
